In 2015, we were awarded the project for an Office Building and the surrounding areas in the business centre of Lisbon. Our proposal was to design a timeless building, clear and flexible enough to face any kind of eventualities, which are quite common at this scale. Constructive rationality, layout flexibility, environmental comfort or good energy performance, were central aspects of the project. Despite being private as a mission, an Office Building has a strong public expression. This awareness was the key for the design of the building and its surrounding landscape, such as the custom made modular facade, the location of the double height lobby, the flat public square or the hybridisation of private and public properties. Despite the project’s visibility, this 17 floor building is not a skyscraper.
