This film was made on the occasion of the Mies van der Rohe Award. Shot and edited by artists Pedro Diniz Reis and Rodrigo Tavarela Peixoto, it is a 5-minute short feature about Thalia Theatre in Lisbon. A sequence of still plans shows the building outside, then inside, then outside again. During this tour, several events take place. A woman goes into the theatre, a film crew shoots a video clip for a band, and a security guard watches a limousine pass by. At the end, some monkeys move around in the nearby zoo. Sound conveys the acoustics of each space, as well as of the actions. Thalia Theatre is both the scenario and protagonist of this film, intended as documentation and a work of its own. The frames and the montage nevertheless follow the structure of the architecture.
